Meet Cristina

A little bit about me…

I came from Colombia at a young age and was raised in Southern California. I graduated from Cal State University Fullerton with a Bachelors in Human Services, Mental Health Emphasis in 2007. I obtained my Masters of Science in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy at Cal State University Fullerton in 2011. I have been seeing clients for over a decade and became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2015. I have worked doing individual and group therapy in community settings, as well as psychiatric outpatient hospitals. I have been in private practice since 2016.

The reason I got into this line of work is because of my fascination with the human experience, but mostly for my desire for helping others. I love what I do and hope to be a helpful impact in someone’s journey toward healing and self exploration. It is a true honor to walk with someone on their journey and I am a big believer in growth and transformation. I take a holistic and humanistic approach and my biggest goal is to help create awareness and facilitate consciousness.

I work with adults, but have a special understanding of immigrant and first generational issues. I have also worked extensively with trauma and am trained in EMDR therapy. I am also open to facilitating and incorporating spiritual elements into my work that are non-religious associated. Reach out if you are interested in doing a free consultation to see if I could be a good fit for you!
